Jim Smith's Biography



Jim Smith was born in 1942 in Plainfield, NJ.  He worked at Yale in the college photography lab and learned B&W printing and color film processing.  He spent one as a summer camp photographer.  He worked in the local Eastman Kodak color processing facility the next summer, then in the Kodak research lab in Rochester, NY, for a third summer.  After a long career in chemistry, he returned to his lifelong love for photography and established a consulting and photography business.


Jim has attended photography classes at Foothill College, Los Altos, CA and will complete his AA degree in June 2013.  He has exhibited in the group exhibition, "In Focus", at the Krause Center for Innovation at Foothill College and is participating in the exhibition "Through the Lens" at PhotoCentral Gallery in Hayward, CA from June 15 through August 17, 2013.
